What is JUVEDERM® XC
JUVEDERM® XC is a dermal filler made up of hyaluronic acid (HA) in a gel form. HA is a molecule that attracts water and that is already apparent in our body's as well as most moisturizers. The gel is used to inject into the nasolabial folds (laugh lines), marionette lines, lips, cheeks and even underneath the eyes (tear troughs). JUVEDERM® XC is available in many different consistencies due to the fact that it can be injected into so many different parts of the face. Facial rejuvenation with dermal fillers has been an aesthetic option for decades and patients have been satisfied the results even though they are temporary. Instead of having a full face lift procedure, patients have been opting for this non-surgical 'liquid facelift' technique.
How long does JUVEDERM® XC last?*
JUVEDERM® XC products can last anywhere from 6 months to two years depending on the specific JUVEDERM® product used and the area in which it was injected. The life span of this rejuvenation method also depends on how quickly the specific patient metabolizes the product. When fillers are used, the results can last for a long time. Dermal fillers are designed to last much longer and continue to keep the skin looking fresh and vibrant. By adding volume to the tissues underneath, the skin regains its elasticity.
